2013 CFDA Fashion Awards: Fashion’s movers and shakers take their art for a walk

When top models and celebrities file out for the 2013 CFDA Fashion Awards, the worst dressed list of fashion referees becomes irrelevant. However, the fashion authorities still being human, there are still one or two stray arrows that flit across all red carpet events.

The best dressed list, however, is expected to top the brim. Supermodel Karlie Kloss stole a march on her colleagues by appearing in a Cushnie and Ochs patent leather and satin skirt tailoring that amply revealed the dunes of her décolletage. Fellow Victoria Secret headliner Alessandra Ambrosio had a glorious glow in a white asymmetric wrap from Kaufmanfranco that exposes her envied back.

Adriana Lima, despite risking the many misinformed trompe l’oeils of diaphanous fabric, pulled off a nicely textured, brilliant Givenchy that revealed her famous legs. Russian supermodel Karolina Kurkova pushed the leggy route by appearing in shorts, which would have been inappropriate for the red carpet if not for her envied figure and pins.

Model mom Miranda Kerr flashed a girlish side with a knee-length number by Proenza Schouler. Her Stuart Weitzman strappy heels added the perfect dainty touch to her blue and green frock that went well with her eyes.

Candice Swanepoel, though never failing to disappoint with her beauty, had one of the more faded looks of the evening. Some critics call it rebel, but her Prabal Gurung asymmetric cocktail, belted, clipped, and pinched here and there, washed out her famous visage and figure.
