There have been rumors in the past vis-à-vis the Vogue editor’s political interests, which were rebuffed by Wintour herself, but this one is another story.
Bloomberg was the first to report that President Barack Obama is “considering nominating Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue, as his next ambassador to either the U.K. or France as he looks to reward his biggest fundraisers with embassies never out of fashion.” The editor was able to raise more than $500,000 for the President’s reelection campaign due to countless grand dinners and other gatherings.
Even though there aren’t official declarations yet, it looks like Wintour has gotten herself in a competition between two other bundlers named Matthew Barzun and Marc Lasry.
However, this speculation might not actually come to fruition because Wintour reportedly doesn’t have any interest in furthering her influence through political affairs.
No one can refute the fact that Wintour is a smart and stylish woman who is capable of making great fashionable things possible, but do you think she’s fully-equipped when it comes to diplomatic affairs?
