For the fourth year running, the world’s most iconic fashion brands will come together to celebrate a bigger and better celebration of this year’s Fashion’s Night Out (FNO). The 2012 installment of this global sartorial rendezvous won’t be any different than last year’s, with designers, editors, image-makers, stars and models lending their talents and faces to decorate FNO events across 500 cities in the US.
While America—and 18 other countries—are on its sartorial feet in eager excitement, you can’t deny that the very heart of FNO lies within the busy streets of New York City. As such, majority of the grandest surprises will be held all over the city. Designers and brands have truly taken this annual celebration to another level, as they prepared only the most amazing activities for all FNO consumers trooping to their stores.
The Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet store in Manhanttan for instance, will have a full-on girls night out on September 6 with braid bars, manicures, charm bracelet stations and tattoo booths awaiting FNO shoppers. At Diane von Furstenberg’s Washington Street store, the label’s FNO celebrations will be hosted by Girls’ Allison Williams and Vogue’s Meredith Melling Burke. With a Vogue Editor, MAC makeup artists, a fortune teller, and special guest DJ Solange Knowles making an appearance, Furstenberg should perhaps ready her staff for a mob of excited FNO shoppers.
While all of the events are almost need-to-see happenings on Thursday night, it’s an impossibility to catch every designer event across the city. Even worse is deciding which store to check out. Proving that this is the biggest FNO gathering to-date, a chockfull of irresistibly ingenious marketing stunts including celebrity and designer appearances, fun in-store consumer activities, gifts with purchase, performances and pop-up shops, have been arranged. Then again, it will also be a sickening disappointment not to see another brand’s fashion show, product launch and mini music concert.
Check out FNO’s official website to see who is showing up where and what will go down where. With only two days away from the frenzied event, do yourself a favor and pore through that extensive list and start working on your FNO itinerary.
