The 40th Annual American Music Awards last night saw a spectrum of music artists and Hollywood personalities converge under one imposing venue—the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. While the red carpet style was predictably varied, exciting and downright ostentatious, we at Fashion Glamour would like to change the landscape for a while and zoom in on the women’s marvelous beauty looks instead.
Sure, the Balmain ensemble Gwen Stefani chose was mesmerizing, but her bombshell-like makeup stood out just as towering as her fashion-forward outfit. Stefani brought her signature scarlet lips to the ceremony, commanding just as much attention as her bra-revealing ensemble. With luscious platinum blonde curls softening the severity of her lip color, there’s no arguing that the singer was one of the evening’s most beautiful attendees.
Ginnifer Goodwin, a red carpet veteran, was another standout. Her makeup, which complemented her pink Oscar de la Renta number, beamed with trendy frostiness and familiar romanticism. Eyes were fixated on Goodwin’s pale pink lips, metallic lids and wispy lashes that made quite an interesting beauty statement.
There may not be anything too different with Hayden Panettiere’s look, but we just adore how she proves time and time again that simplicity is almost always the key to arriving in style—and beautifully—on the red carpet. With shimmery cheeks, rosy lips and flawlessly arched eyebrows working in unison, the actress effortlessly turned heads.
Leaving her growingly predictable red-tinted lips for another outing, Taylor Swift looked pretty as always in the spotlight. It wasn’t a beauty knockout by all means though, but we just have to give it to the young singer and her consistently flawless beauty choices.
Swift may have stuck to her guns, but there was another woman stealing everyone’s moment to earn oohs and aahs. One of the most shockingly stylish ladies of the night was Kesha, who was virtually unrecognizable with no grease on her face. Her lips were decked out in gloss, while her eyes heavily rimmed. While it was refreshing to see her in a fresh and feminine makeup, we might need some time adjusting as soon as she returns to her old ways.
