Beauty Watch: 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards

The 70th Golden Globe Awards last January 13 was definitely one of the most unforgettable award shows so far – the Oscars is still coming, of course — not only because of the surprising winners, but also because of the stars and their spectacular beauty looks. We’ve rounded up our favorite Hollywood beauties, who we think, ran away with the title as the evening’s most beautiful.

Despite her predictable gown choice – a black and sleeved Burberry number – Adele managed to win our hearts with her classy bouffant hair. Her makeup was tastefully regal and dramatic courtesy of her heavy eyeliner and rosy pink lips.

Hayden Panettiere, who was looking every bit the girl-next-door at the Golden Globes, saw her makeup mimic the rosiness of her Roberto Cavalli gown. The sweetheart neckline helped bring out her loosely styled blonde locks too. From her slightly frosted eyes to perfectly pink lips, there’s no wonder she was beaming all night long – she looked absolutely beautiful.

Newly-single Taylor Swift set aside her dark red lipstick and opted for a delicate pink shade to contrast her eggplant-colored Donna Karan Atelier gown. Though Swift’s hairdo was rather lackluster, she managed to vamp it up with light plum eyeshadow.

Jessica Chastain, who looked magnificent in Calvin Klein, wowed us with her 1920’s-inspired beauty. The actress wore beautiful retro and mermaid waves and complemented it with luscious berry lips.

Salma Hayek also stole the show with her medium-tone, violet-tinged eyeshadow and sultry red lips. While many stars went for sleek hairstyles, Hayek left her lustrous brunette locks loose. The way her hair cascaded and bounced on her shoulders were just as enthralling a sight as her midnight-blue Gucci dress.

Julianne Hough kept her striking blue eyes front and center thanks to her makeup palette consisting of flattering browns, neutrals and gold. Her lips may have been intended to play second fiddle to her eyes, but we really wish there was more color to it. While her makeup was commendable, it was her edgy and sophisticated faux Mohawk hair that had everyone buzzing on the red carpet.
