Blake Lively returns to the realms of high-end fashion as Gucci announced the blonde actress as the new face of their up-and-coming fragrance, Gucci Premiere. Lively, who has previously fronted Chanel’s Mademoiselle handbag line, expressed her pleasure in having been chosen to front the campaign. “I admire the qualities of the Gucci Première woman and feel honored to represent the fragrance,” said the actress.
Gucci creative director Frida Giannini headed the creation of the new scent. “In conceiving this fragrance I was inspired by timeless Hollywood glamour and the iconic leading ladies of Hollywood’s golden era,” said Giannini in an official statement. The new scent, whose name was derived from the fashion house’s couture line, also carries the same sophistication even in packaging.
Designed to perfectly evoke the glamour and spirit of women in the spotlight, the perfume is packaged in a chic gold flacon that is as luxurious as the notes it delivers. A glamorous telling of the Gucci Premiere fragrance will be shown in a short film directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, and will debut at the Venice Film Festival in September. The luxury label has also tapped Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott to shoot the fragrance’s print campaign.
