This year’s Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards, held at Claridge’s Hotel in London last October 31, unsurprisingly attracted some of the most inspiring ladies making a difference in their respective fields in British shores. Presented in partnership with Estée Lauder, Harrods and Tiffany & Co., the soiree saw a spectrum of personalities—from celebrated designers to rousing style icons—dazzle the red carpet with their grace and glamour.
It may have been Halloween night, but British women were in their sartorial best as they stepped out to either present or accept the night’s important accolades. It was a welcome maze of superb dressing, with the likes of Alice Dellal, Daisy Lowe and Yasmin Le Bon traipsing around the venue in purely luxurious garments. It would be easy to tread the easy path towards the center of the fashion spotlight, but the beautiful crowd impressed in their unexpected choices. Tallulah Harlech for instance, was couture-ready in Chanel while Sarah Ann Macklinlooked devilishly romantic in a lace burgundy gown. Gillian Anderson also momentarily stopped traffic lights as she looked seductive in a plunging Grecian-inspired gown.
Other stylish attendees were British Actor of the Year awardee Emily Blunt, Musician of the Year winner Emelie Sande and the statuesque Jacquetta Wheeler. Jessica Enis not only won in the sartorial department but also nabbed the British Ambassadors of the Year award alongside other Olympic winners Victoria Pendleton and Ellie Simonds. L’Wren Scott, Mariella Frostrup and Rosamund Pike were also on hand to join the festivities.
Breakthrough Award winner Ruth Wilson and Dame Vivienne Westwood, who brought home the Inspiration of the Year accolade, were the other women to complete the event’s fashionable circle. The night may have been centered on the women, but men were well-represented as the dashing Luke Evans and Eddie Redmayne were fitting eye candies at the soiree.
