More than a luxury brand, Britain-based Burberry is now officially a designer-label powerhouse “after notching up record sales of £1 billion in six months,” reports London Evening Standard. This figure is valued at roughly $1.6 million, where much of the surge in Burberry sales is credited to the British, French and Chinese markets.
This news puts the Burberry brand into the world’s elite circle of designer brands such as Prada, Gucci and Louis Vuitton. From a brand that was known solely for its trench coats, Burberry has truly evolved into a global powerhouse that just keeps growing. In fact, London Evening Standard reports that Burberry will open a 25,000-square feet store in Regent Street later this summer.
