With the Fall shows already rolling out in New York, we’re feeling a little nostalgic at how the fashion calendar quickly zoomed by. Perhaps a whistle-armed style patrol should be standing on pedestals to stop the seasons from coming and going too quickly.
With that, we’re temporarily halting this week’s frenzied fall presentations and remembering the most notable spring accessories that hit the runways. We’re turning the green spotlight on French fashion house Chloé, recognized as the first house of luxury prêt-à-porter.
Chloé’s spring 2012 lineup channels classic femininity at its best, with the variety of bags making up the collection. Whether it was a large toe or a small shoulder bag, there was a definite effort not to stray away from the brand’s style sentiments by keeping the lines sharp. Although Chloé ignored the neon call of spring, muted colors such as eucalyptus, mahogany and emerald injected a sense of vibrancy.
The brand’s spring shoes didn’t depart from the classics as well, keeping the elegance in leather clogs, sling-back wedges, ballerina flats and pumps. The rest of the collection, which included sunglasses, belts and accessories, boasted of understated style.
Spring is when designers usually bring out the rainbow fireworks and mile-long tassels to embellish their runway extras, but Chloé swam against the current, delivering us a chic and simple accessory collection that we think could stand fashion’s ever-changing waves.
