Fairchild Fashion Media (FFM), a Condé Nast unit that offers a comprehensive coverage of the fashion industry through its network of seasoned and prolific fashion journalists, has acquired Fashion Networks International (FNI). The latter is the parent company of NowManifest, a blog network comprised of big-name fashion blogs such as Rumi Neely’s Fashion Toast, Bryan Yambao’s BryanBoy, as well as Anna Dello Russo’s blog.

With FFM already owning Women’s Wear Daily and Style.com, among others, this could well be an effort to strengthen further its voice in the industry at a global level. The 1.2 million unique visits NowManifest rakes in each month could have also been crucial in FFM’s decision—given that FNI was only founded last year by Christian Remrod and Elin Kling.

In light of this shake-up, Remröd will reportedly take on the managing director position of NowManifest and FFM Business Development. Speaking with WWD, Remröd said, “We are extremely excited to join Fairchild Fashion Media, both to expand NowManifest and to develop future tools and business.”

Through this tie-up of two high-profile networks of fashion bloggers and journalists, we may be hearing a bevy of louder and bolder fashion voices. Not that it’s a bad thing. If it’s in the name of delivering a more comprehensive-but-diverse voice in fashion, we’d be happy to listen.
