It’s been barely two months since Christina Ricci first stepped out in this spring-ready Valentino mini dress and yet here comes Olivia Munn rocking the same frock at the 8th Annual Pink Party benefiting the Cedars-Sinai Women’s Cancer Program last Saturday. There’s pretty much no question as to why this dress—a look from the label’s Resort 2013 collection—is stealing the spotlight for the second time. Its femininity, easy wearability and unforgiving charm are qualities that would make any woman effortlessly buckle under its generous peppering of colorful floral appliques.
Looking at the two stars, its obvious how they let the dress work its own magic on the red carpet, leaving ostentatious accessorizing and over-the-top makeup behind. Both opted for side-swept updos and pointed heels as well. However, we do believe that Munn ever-so-slightly surpassed Ricci when she decided on a pair of studded nude pumps—also from Valentino. In contrast to the severity of Ricci’s Manolo Blahnik black pumps; Munn’s pair afforded a more seamless head-to-toe visual encounter. Munn’s height also puts her in a far more advantageous position style-wise, with the hem ending perfectly just above her knees.
Today’s fashion face-off is a hard battle. Although Ricci was the first to wear this girly and dainty Valentino dress, you can’t take away the fact that Munn looked just as spectacular in it. Who among these raven-haired beauties wore this candied concoction of a dress better?
