The shake-ups never end in the fashion industry. From the string of designer exits that seized fashion editors’ attention, it’s the latter’s turn to make headlines. Elle, one of the world’s most important fashion magazines, has just lost some of its key online editorial staff yesterday, reports Fashionista.
Keith Pollock, editorial director for Elle.com, reportedly left his post for bigger responsibilities as an editor in chief at Du Jour, an up-and-coming multiplatform editorial publication formed in collaboration with Gilt Groupe. Besides losing its editorial director, Elle.com also saw the departures of market editor Sydney Wasserman and art director Stepahine Jones, who will join Pollock at Du Jour. Meanwhile, Elle.com’s fashion news editor Britt Aboutaleb is also leaving the website to fill in the beauty editor post at Who What Wear.
We’ve heard of editorial shake-ups before, but this one will definitely be one to take note of. With four important positions empty and unmanned, Elle.com may be in for a rough ride ahead. Although this will be a significant loss for Elle, Du Jour and Who What Wear will surely be celebrating the arrival of their new editors—and the start of great editorial content.
