After lending her face to the magazine’s debut issue a year ago, here comes supermodel Gisele Bündchen returning on the cover to fete Harper’s Bazaar Brazil’s anniversary issue. It wasn’t just the supermodel who was returning however, for even photographer Terry Richardson came back for this déjà vu of a cover shoot.
For its triumphant one-year run, Harper’s Bazaar Brazil dialed down the model fierceness and opted for a one happy—quite literally—cover. The result? A red-lipped supermodel smiling like any woman would if she was the world’s highest-earning model. We sort of like the light-heartedness of the concept, but then those metallic balloons just had to hog the spotlight and inject an unwelcome cheesiness to the image.
In the last 12 months, the magazine featured a heavy-hitting lineup of models such as Aline Weber, Lily Donaldson, Coco Rocha and Caroline Trentini. As such, we can expect nothing short of amazing faces as the magazine moves forward and continues its fashion domination in Brazil. Besides, with Carine Roitfeld signing on as Harper’s Bazaar‘s new Global Fashion Director, surely they’re bound to give us some kickass covers.
