The heart prints have arrived.

Well, it never really left. For it is a print often associated with the cheesy sensibilities of children and teenage fashion, it is usually eclipsed and overlooked. But with many designers’ efforts to reinvent the universal symbol and move it up the style scale, we’re seeing more of it lately.

With Valentine’s Day a mere six days from sweeping us off our feet, we curate five pieces that best exemplify how this print can be stylishly worked into a woman’s ensemble.

Kate Spade New York | Heart on Your Sleeve Mittens | $85

Keep your hands warm and toasty with this pair of dainty sleeve mittens. Appropriately sweet and dainty, a woman of style can also pull off a sweet-as-a-button mitten like this.

Versus | Heart-print stretch-jersey dress | $425

Step and stand out in style with this bright knee-length dress from Versace’s diffusion line Versus. Besides channeling the Valentine spirit with a bit of casualness, this is also worthy of another spring outing.

Rebecca Taylor | Ikat ‘40s Dress | $350

Diane von Furstenberg | Quinn Patent Leather Belt | $185
