If you ever wonder when Freja Beha will finally make a return on the runway, well, the incoming spring/summer fashion week season may just be it. Rumors are circulating all over social networks that drugstore beauty brand Maybelline has just tapped Beha to be one of its new faces. Beha, who has done campaigns for Chanel, Valentino and Gucci, has yet to front a beauty campaign, marking this rumored partnership a probable first for the Danish model.
Never did we think to put “Freja” and “Maybelline” together, but according to industry insiders, this surprising casting choice stems from the brand’s efforts to revamp its image. Besides Beha, Brazilian model Aline Weber was also brought in to star in the new beauty campaign alongside Maybelline face Emily DiDonato.
Although this has yet to be confirmed, we’re quite surprised to see Beha booking commercial work. Frankly, we’d prefer Beha to stick to her designer exclusives and high-end associations. Then again, occasional commercial modeling isn’t too bad since some models have mastered this delicate art. Besides, we can’t wait to see her in a beauty campaign.
This interesting beauty campaign, which may or may not star Beha, will launch during New York Fashion Week. Tell us, are you excited to see Freja in a Maybelline campaign? Or are you secretly hoping this remains a rumor?
