Rumors that Jil Sander will take over the Creative Director position Raf Simons vacated has been laid to rest with the company confirming that the designer will assume the position on February 28. “I am very happy and excited to be back. It feels like coming home after a brief journey,” said Sander in a WWD article.
This will mark the second time for the designer to return to the brand she founded in 1968. Sander has twice exited the company—in 2000 and 2004—because of disagreements with Prada CEO Patrizio Bertelli who then bought a 75% share in the company.
