Mon Shu girl

Early this June, we reported that a beauty partnership between Karl Lagerfeld and the label behind his favorite sketching tool, Shu Uemura is in the works. While the 17-piece makeup collection is still in production behind closed doors, Lagerfeld is keeping the buzz high by introducing the collaboration’s animated mascot named Mon Shu girl.

As the face of the upcoming collection, Mon Shu girl got a decidedly stunning introduction into the beauty world with an animated short telling the story of her origins. If the video is to be believed, she is then the fashionable lovechild of Lagerfeld and his brilliant imagination. The colorful video showed Mon Shu girl coming to life after Lagerfeld sketched her onto a plain paper. As soon as the doll-like Mon Shu girl rose from the paper, she was thrown into the colorful Shu Uemura world before being sent off to presumably spread beauty and word of the collection to the world.

The Mon Shu girl and her Euro-Japanese look perfectly merged the beauty of east and west, and in essence, the heritage of the two collaborators. With such a solid and vivid embodiment of the up-and-coming makeup collection, we at Fashion Glamour are now beyond excited to sneak a preview of these beauty products come late October.
