Here comes another fashion collaboration to be anticipated next year. Karl Lagerfeld is back on the designer collaboration trend for it was announced that Chanel’s creative director is set to design a shoe capsule collection for the Brazilian shoe brand Melissa.
“Karl Lagerfeld is one of the most iconic designers of the 21st century and now extends his kingdom of fashion into our world of Melissa,” Melissa CEO Paulo Pedó said in a statement. Believe it or not, Lagerfeld is incorporating his classic fashion sense into Melissa’s famed shoes that involve plastic.
According to a report by Vogue UK, the first batch of the collection will consist of autumn/winter 2013-2014 styles and will be presented in March. The line will be up for sale beginning fall 2013.
This isn’t the first time Melissa has joined forces with other giant household names in fashion for they have already worked with Vivienne Westwood, Gareth Pugh, Jason Wu, and supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio. These colorful plastic-made shoes have proven its appeal many times, counting Hollywood celebrities like Anne Hathaway, Dita von Teese, and Katy Perry as fans.
Having said that, do you think Melissa ready for a collection of shoes featuring witty designs with a dash of haute couture from the Kaiser himself? Though there are no details as to what the shoes will like, we’d like to think that this epic collection will be full of vibrant colors and eccentric accents.
