Kim Kardashian snags a cover on L’Uomo Vogue

Kim Kardashian and her excess of eye makeup have officially breached Vogue territory. For the July-August issue of L’Uomo Vogue, Conde Nast’s men-dedicated magazine, the queen of reality TV donned shorter hair as she is photographed by Francesco Carrozzini in a black and white editorial titled “Just Unconventional.” Unsurprisingly, the theme took her on-camera lifestyle to heart.

This stereotypical editorial, which enlisted the help of a dozen or more faux photographers, a pair of oversized sunglasses, and a wig, didn’t look too different from what happens to her in real life. In every shot, we see the controversial star being swarmed by paparazzis, prompting her to run away or don a deceivingly obvious undercover look. In one shot however, the real Kardashian is glorified, hogging the glamorous spotlight. Amid this questionable employment, there is one commendable thing to be noticed in the editorial—the fact that Kardashian is all covered up in sleek and conservative pieces.

Accompanying the editorial is a lengthy interview, where she gets blunt about being born into a “classic California lineage,” which meant she had lived a luxurious lifestyle since the day she was born. From mansions to private clubs, she had it all. Further into the interview, she talked about how she was able to build her own empire, how she was raised, and how she would have liked to be a teacher.

This high-fashion stint, which have earlier led Vogue aficionados to mourn this indignation of a cover story, was shot in Los Angeles’ Chinatown. While this appearance could well be Kardashian’s entry into high-fashion modeling stints, we’re absolutely sure that we won’t be seeing her on American Vogue as long as Anna Wintour is around.
