Ever the innovator that she is, Lady Gaga is breaking new ground in the fragrance industry with the impending launch of Lady Gaga Fame. The cutting-edge concoction “is the first ever black eau de parfum that sprays clear and becomes invisible once airborne.” Besides the already-inventive fluid makeup, the fragrance departs from the traditional perfume structure where there top, base and middle notes. For Lady Gaga’s first perfume, she went with a rare “olfactory structure” as it delivers a collision of dark, sensual and light notes all at the same time.
Although Lady Gaga has been creatively describing the scent as that of an “expensive hooker,” the official release enumerated honey, saffron, apricot nectar, tiger orchid and jasmine to be at the core of Lady Gaga Fame. Production of the fragrance is as grand as her everyday ensembles. The moody and opulent bottle was designed in collaboration with Nick Knight, while Steven Klein took charge of campaign direction and photography.
Fragrances have long been one of the benchmarks of stardom, with personalities who have “made it” brewing their own scents. Thus, a Lady Gaga perfume was an inevitable business move for the singer. It may be a pretty long wait, but the fragrance, which is released through her own Haus Laboratories in association with Coty, will saunter into stores this September.
