Who knew macaroons ever needed a stylish designer box of their own? Well, since macaroons have unofficially taken over the cocktail tables of many fashionable events, the special attention seems only fitting. In an announcement that’s as sweet as these colorful desserts, Lanvin and storied confectionery company Ladurée collaborated to churn out a special bubble gum-flavored macaroon packaged in a delightfully quirky box. Each box will carry eight wonderful pieces of macaroon heaven, described by Alber Elbaz as “the bubble of childhood.”
Although we’re pretty sure Elbaz had no participation in the actual baking part, the designer’s often whimsical aesthetics came alive on the child-like sketches of women on the box’s façade. While this collaboration appears to challenge the irony that women in fashion should always be a size zero, a statement from Lanvin said that “The Lanvin creations of Alber Elbaz not only make women beautiful, but also prove that sweets and beauty can go hand in hand.”
Actually, the fact that fashion and sweets are two of women’s biggest weaknesses are enough to convince us to grab a box or two—as a memento, that is—of these stylishly-boxed Lanvin for Ladurée macaroons. These glorious desserts will be available in France on September 25, just in time for Paris Fashion Week. Meanwhile, fashion lovers with a sweet tooth from the UK, US and Japan will get to stuff themselves silly with these delicacies on September 28.
