Often a sartorial mishit on the red carpet, Carly Rae Jepsen looked surprisingly pretty at the 40th Annual American Music Awards. For the star-studded event, the Call Me Maybe singer stuck to her girl-next-door guns and opted for a baby pink gown by Gomez-Gracia, a British contemporary brand designed by Patricia Gomez-Gracia. The glittery sorbet concoction of a frock had a plunging neckline, which despite dropping mid-chest, still looked perfectly modest. The frock was also peppered with thousands of iridescent micro-sequins, all of which were sewn by hand.
While the 26-year-old Jepsen may have been criticized for often dressing younger than her real age, this dress—timeless and flattering—managed to touch on both subjects, as it exuded both a sense of youthfulness and refinement. That’s not saying her exceptionally feminine look was on point though, since her eye-grazing fringes seriously needed some trimming.
