With her skin as luminescent as snow, Jessica Chastain really radiated on the black carpet as she chose a romantic lace-appliqued dress from Stella McCartney for the opening night festivities of her new Broadway play The Heiress. Even her dashing co-star Dan Stevens, who plays Matthew Crawley in the successful British TV series Downton Abbey, had no chance of stealing Chastain’s reverberating sartorial thunder as the actress looked magnificent from head to toe.
The modest and romantic frock yet again keeps the cutout trend afloat. The dress, which boasted of gorgeous lemon yellow lace embroidery from the neck to the hemline, looked like a welcome burst of sunshine amid the otherwise somber black-and-white arrival venue. Thanks to the actress’ porcelain skin, the dress also looked like it was entirely made of lace, as the mesh panels blended so well against Chastain’s skin.
Chastain completed her look with perfection in mind, keeping her signature red hair curled and swept to one side. With knockout red lips drawing all the attention, the actress truly and enviably channeled the persona of a heiress.
If the deconstructed neckline looks familiar, it’s actually because Kylie Minogue wore a dress of the same cut—the disastrous gingham dress she slipped into a few weeks ago. Proof that fabric choice is essential, this dress looks miles better than Minogue’s outdated choice.
