First there was Daisy, and then came Lola. These one-name perfumes—or girls, as Marc Jacobs calls them—are welcoming a third fragrant sister called Dot. The new fragrance is a charming concoction of red berries, dragon fruit, honeysuckle, jasmine, coconut water, orange blossom, vanilla, driftwood and musk. In a WWD report, Jacobs revealed that “there’s a juicy, lush quality to it because it felt like the right spirit for this bottle.” The flagon is as exciting and playful as the notes, arriving in a quirky bottle shaped like a ladybug and butterfly hybrid.
The Dot campaign, which will be splashed in various magazines this September, was photographed by Juergen Teller and features Codie Young. Dot will hit over 3,300 US and Great Britain stores this July, contrary to Fashion Glamour’s March 29 report of an August release. Dot will retail from $48 to $89, while the body lotion and shower gel will go for $45 and $40, respectively.
With this addition to Jacobs’ range of commercially successful fragrances, we can’t help but anticipate this designer will give birth to another one-named sister soon. For now however, we have all the time in the world to bask in the playful and charming world of the Dot fragrance.
