No designer’s name is more attached to digital prints than Athens-born Mary Katrantzou. Ever since she pushed her label to the limelight in 2008, Katrantzou has always captured our attention thanks to her brilliant use of digital prints in her pieces. May it be a casual skirt or a dressy blouse, trust the designer to create the most mind-bending print illusions and stamp it onto her pieces.
For her third capsule collection with retail favorite Topshop, she churns out a whimsical lineup of skirts, dresses, scarves and blouses with precious prints and intricate hues emblazoned on each piece. By the looks of it, it’s a journey to wonderland where whatever her careful and gifted eyes imagine, she brings to life.
In three days, fans of the designer will finally get their hands on the collection. So before Katrantzou paints your wardrobe all sorts of colors, we’re revealing our top three looks from the collection.
This sweetly structured bowl-skirted dress stole the show for us. While other designers can only imagine pulling off such an eclectic look, Katrantzou made the bowl skirt and the hectic prints work together like a dream.
While the look itself is just as dazzling, the sleeveless collared blouse and cropped floral trousers are great centerpieces as well. The number of looks one can create using these two separates are as exciting as Katrantzou’s visual concoctions.
While a jersey dress can reveal the unflattering areas on a woman’s body, we find this stunning piece as the best defense. The heavily printed waist and bottom can conceal imperfections, without looking like you’re actually trying. The precious floral China patterns lend an air of fun sophistication as well.
