Nail Dairies: Spring Painting

The freshness of spring require women to turn to their nails for a fresh new look. This season, nail colors are as interesting as the splash of color we’ve been bathing in for the past month. After stocking up on the season’s most crucial wardrobe pieces, we now move away from the closet and into our beauty drawers, which need a rejuvenating upheaval as well. From the dreary cold of winter, we transition into the bright and cheery spring mood. With color imperative this season, we heeded the call and collected these classic spring-worthy nail lacquers to keep your nails on trend.

(L-R) Beige Lotus, Pink Icing, Flapper Pink, Psychedelic Orange and Graphic Berry

We plucked out five classic feminine shades from Dior’s range of Haute Couleur High Lasting nail lacquers, which fit perfectly between the season’s pastels and brights. Each shade, namely Beige Lotus, Pink Icing, Flapper Pink, Psychedelic Orange and Graphic Berry offer a vibrant shine to the nails and high-impact pigmentation as well. We’re especially biased towards the Flapper Pink bottle, which has a light hint of shimmer. Women with a penchant for deeper-but-still-feminine colors will find the Graphic Berry particularly lovely.

These bottles also come with the new Dior brush, which affords easier application. Even better is the new chip-resistant formula to guarantee longer wear and protection. Looking at how these nails are arranged, we think they make an amazing color palette to channel the ombre nail trend as well.

(L-R) Manosque, Diamond Life, Pussy Galore, Orgasm and Tokaido Express

If Dior channeled the effeminate tendencies of women, NARS evoked the moodiness of the female persona concocting these shades. What is nab-worthy about these colors are how versatile and wearable they are no matter what occasion or season. Even better is the fact that NARS’ incorporates UV protection to keep the color in and prevent discoloration.

We love the Manosque, a smoky lavender shade, and Tokaido Express which is a blend of black amethyst and gold. These two share an enigmatic quality that easily set themselves apart from the pinks and corals of the season. Technically on-the-dot in terms of color trends this spring, Diamond Life, Pussy Galore and Orgasm have a muted luster we like.

(L-R) Carnal Red, Indian Pink and Coral Blame

Tom Ford’s no stranger to luxury and he evokes the same attitude in these opulent Carnal Red, Indian Pink and Coral Blame nail lacquers. We’ve seen a thousand of colors, but these three are especially show-stopping. High in luster, gloss and shine, these alluring colors imitate the boldness of the season to perfection. The bottles itself impart the label’s persona—chic, sharp and sleek.

Red nails will eternally be the color of each season, and Tom Ford’s interpretation translates to a dangerously deep shade of red. Aptly called Carnal Red, we’ve already noted this to be the season’s go-to bottle when pastel nails won’t cut it to an uber-sophisticated soiree. Meanwhile, Indian Pink and Coral Blame tackle the classic spring hues with such audacity and fervor, yielding a vivid and strong pigmentation.
