Ageless Russian model Natalia Vodianova is front and center in Stella McCartney’s winter campaign, scoring her third consecutive appearance as the face of the British label. The designer styled the shoot herself, dressing Vodianova in a stunning sports-luxe-inspired tweed mini dress, an embroidered shirt paired with loose pants, and an oversized coat set against an electric pink pant.
Photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the new ads also took a more light-hearted slant as McCartney wanted this season’s campaign to carry a “sense of humor.” In one shot, Vodianova caved in to the notorious duck-face pout, while holding a faux-croc gray clutch bag near her face. The model also showed off her legs in an intentionally-awkward dance move caught on camera.
Speaking about the easy-going winter ads, McCartney told Women’s Wear Daily that she strived to “create a striking, memorable image that will leap off the page and capture the energy of the collection and Natalia’s personality.” The new ads will break in US magazines this September.
