Oscar de la Renta taps two South African beauties for Fall 2012 campaign

Oscar de la Renta never falters when it comes to churning out campaigns, but there was something peculiar about the label’s new Fall campaign. Longtime de la Renta fans will see it, and we at Fashion Glamour sure did. In a surprising break from Kloss’ five-season stint as the de la Renta woman, the label dropped its long-running one-woman campaign show and changed it up with South African beauties Candice Swanepoel and Katryn Kruger.

Shot by Craig McDean, the pastel-themed campaign managed to give equal emphasis on the models and the garments as the tightly-shot ads feature the two models standing next to each other, while they give off seductive looks to the camera. Each image bannered two dazzling dresses—of roughly the same color palette—from the label’s collection. One photograph flaunted two of the most voluminous gowns in the collection, with Swanepoel clad in the lavender version while Kruger models the blue design.

With two new faces fronting the brand, it can be difficult to shake off images of Kloss in the designer’s stunning ball gowns, but with the styling help of Alex White, the new campaign comes to life even in the absence of Kloss’ familiar gaze and imposing legs.
