Manhattan-based designer Jason Wu is celebrated for rolling out ensembles that emanate modern sophistication and fuss-free glamour. From Emma Stone to Michelle Obama, Wu has indeed captured the attention of today’s most stylish stars. His works have also graced the pages of countless magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar and Allure, cementing his status as a force to be reckoned with in the fashion industry.
When word came out that Jason Wu has collaborated with retailer giant Target, everybody was abuzz with excitement. His feminine appeal is apparent in the line, envisioning an American girl out and about in Paris.
A wave of oohs and aahs resonated around the world as soon as the lookbook came out. Admittedly, the collection hits reception gold courtesy of comfortable silhouettes that can go from day to night. From pleated skirts to silk blouses, Wu manages to bring out a spirit of dainty elegance at an unworldly $19.99 to $59.99 price range. Completing the collection is an array of bags and scarves that embody a truly timeless Parisian girl.
Anticipation for the launch is at an all-time high, with only five days left before we can get our hands on one of the 53 pieces in the limited edition collection. So before it hits the stores on February 5 and sell out within the day, here are our five favorite looks from the capsule collection that attests to its worthiness of a space in the Fashion Glamour wardrobe.
One can never go wrong with a collision of two blush numbers. The long-sleeved blouse paired with the ultra-feminine lace skirt portrays how easy it is to attain sophistication. That is, with Jason Wu pieces.
With nothing against the closet staple little black dress, Wu brings forth a welcome change with an exquisite little cream dress with black accents. This is also available in black with a nude patent belt.
Of all the bags in the collection, this front-flap bag in cream or black caught our attention for its simple but chic attitude that can take a woman from day to night. It’s big enough to carry the essentials, while still adding a dash of attitude.
An update of the bow-tie trend, Wu opts for a dainty ribbon. This school girl-like ensemble reminds us of the designer’s knack for injecting a bit of maturity to what would otherwise be too-girly pieces.
