Could this be the world’s most fashionable comic book yet?
Designer Phillip Lim is breaking new ground to celebrate the launch of his fall collection by co-writing a comic titled Kill The Night with John Ostrander. Drawn by artist Jan Duuersema, the single-release copy pays homage to the theme of his Fall 2012 collection as well as the “neo-noir heroines who embody it.”
The designer’s upcoming collection, which stunned on the catwalk for its heavy reference to the fictional works Sin City and V for Vendetta, will truly get a one-of-a-kind launch with this interesting collision of fashion and animated geekery. “The comic book became the natural medium to tell this story,” said a statement from the label.
Judging by the strips previewed on the label’s Facebook page, this comic will be just as heavy and dark as the stories that inspired Lim’s fall collection. Since we’re talking about Lim however, we may as well forget about spandex and capes, and instead brace ourselves for fashionably dressed protagonists slaying away the bad guys.
Kill The Night will officially launch on September 6, adding excitement to the eagerly-anticipated Fashion’s Night Out festivities. Fans can visit the designer’s website and sign up to become one of the first people to receive signed copies of the black-and-white comic book.
