On Wednesday, Raf Simons unveiled Dior’s spring 2013 campaign, his first ad effort for the luxury label since becoming creative director. Just like how all eyes were fixated on his runway debut, critics had been eager to scrutinize the beguiling new campaign. While others have already aired their disappointment, it wasn’t the case for us at Fashion Glamour.
Photographed by Willy Vanderperre, Simons’ campaign vision stayed true to the storied house’s elegance, with dreamy shots featuring Daiane Conterato, Anna Martynova, Marie Piovesan, and Daria Strokous in floral skirts, sleek pantsuits and more. The models looked like they were floating in every image, thanks to the refreshing stark white backdrop. Without a doubt, these campaign images suggest that Dior is truly one of the luxury labels to watch out for this year.
Comparing Dior’s past and present ads, we would definitely choose Simons’ fantastically whimsy approach for it adhered more to the label’s sophistication. While we thought the campaign was perfectly executed, what do you really think about Simons’ concept?
