Red Carpet Watch: 2012 TCA Summer Party

Summer parties are still raging on as the Television Critics Association brought out another round of glitz and glamour to celebrate its 2012 summer party at the Beverly Hills Hotel last Sunday, with stars from The CW, CBS and Showtime in attendance. While they may be dubbed as “small screen stars,” one fashion-forward celebrity after another stunned on the red carpet, proving that stylishness can also emerge from the tamer Hollywood territory that is the small screen.

Leading the lineup of television stars to steal the red carpet attention were Hart of Dixie’s Rachel Bilson and Jaime King. Bilson stepped out in a smart-and-chic blouse and trousers combo that was made edgier thanks to her faux asymmetrical bob. Meanwhile, King was comfortably trendy in her blue and buttoned-up Stella McCartney dress that easily stood out as one of the event’s most eyed dresses.

Vibrant and colorful dresses also hogged the fashion spotlight, with the likes of Katie Cassidy, and Sophia Bush traipsing down the red carpet in scene-stealing ensembles. Daniela Ruah of NCIS: Los Angeles however, truly embraced the season when she trooped to the red carpet clad in a color-blocked, three-piece ensemble.

Kristen Kreuk was the picture of easy sophistication, arriving in a white midi dress that had gathered pleats on the front. Beth Behrs and Yvonne Strahovski also went down that route as they slipped into elegant black frocks. Janet Montgomery stood out in a hallucinogenic black-and-white Preen dress. Dawn Olivieri opted for simplicity as she slipped into a form-fitting blue dress that had a fascinating waist detail.

Meanwhile, red carpet veterans Emmy Rossum and Lucy Liu breezed through the soiree in black ensembles. Rossum opted for an elegant lace dress from Zuhair Murad, while Liu went for a racy LBD from J. Mendel.
