The 70th Golden Globe Awards was fashionably alive and kicking thanks to several Hollywood favorites arriving in enthralling gowns and mesmerizing dresses. Finding out the evening’s best dressed women is daunting, but not if you’re ogling some of fashion’s most glamorous dresses.
Of the award show’s most elegant red-wearing stars, it was Best Actress award winner Jennifer Lawrence who took the cake. The actress looked phenomenal in a fall 2012 Christian Dior Couture gown that afforded everyone a peek at Lawrence’s impossibly tiny waist and enviable curves.
Up next was Zooey Deschanel‘s Oscar de la Renta gown, which was right up the actress’ quirky tendencies. She accessorized with beautiful pearls, completing her delightfully charming ensemble. Claire Danes not only flaunted her post-baby body but also ran away with one of the best dressed titles courtesy of an Atelier Versace number.
Several ladies went with lighter-colored gowns as well. One of them is Anne Hathaway, who bagged the Best Supporting Actress award and looked fantastic accepting it in a white strapless Chanel gown. Although it was a slight departure from her new risky style persona, Hathaway did well in pulling out some carpet unpredictability.
It’s never really a red carpet event without the presence of black dresses, doesn’t it? Kate Hudson may have opted for a black dress from Alexander McQueen, but it was far from looking safe and mundane. The long-sleeved gown arrived with lavish gold accents on the neckline and a seriously sexy keyhole at the front, making it one of the event’s most memorable dresses. As if her body needed even more cinching, she added a gilded belt for an even more stunning outfit.
Eva Longoria, who was wearing a leg-revealing Emilio Pucci gown, also turned heads at the event. Dressed in Saint Laurent, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was also channeling Angelina Jolie’s infamous leg pose.
Meanwhile, orange prevailed for Jessica Alba and Marion Cotillard. Dressed in Oscar de la Renta, Alba impressed us even more with her luxurious $5.8 million Harry Winston diamond necklace. Cotillard, on the other hand, chose a tea-length Christian Dior Couture dress that had an asymmetrical hemline. Cotillard’s simplistic yet structured dress was a refreshing sight in a sea of ball gowns and mermaid dresses.
Amanda Seyfried, Jessica Chastain, and Amy Adams were the ladies who stunned in blush, nude, and light blue. Seyfried looked sweet in a Givenchy gown while Chastain impressed in Calvin Klein. Adams, on the other hand, nailed it in a Marchesa number that had a dramatic mermaid tulle skirt.
Other celebrities who made it in our best-dressed list are Golden Globe Awards hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, and Michael Kors-dressed Emily Blunt. To see our choices as the evening’s most fashionable, click on the image above to see the slideshow in full screen.
