If Andrej Pejic can model women’s clothes, who’s to say a female supermodel like Saskia de Brauw can’t crossover to menswear too? Perhaps another ingenious idea from the forward-thinking Hedi Slimane, we’ve learned that Saskia de Brauw has been tapped by Slimane to front the label’s menswear spring 2013 campaign.
“The Saint Laurent boy is a girl,” announced the label on their Facebook page alongside a series of beautiful black-and-white photos starring Chanel’s cruise campaign star. Shot and styled by Slimane in Los Angeles, this could be the most simplistic campaign of the season yet. With no hair and makeup artist in tow, de Brauw is credited for her own hair. It’s so rock n’ roll, so androgynous and so delightfully charming.
Dressed in the luxury label’s lineup of sharp, skinny tailored pants, jackets and more, we’re completely on board this idea. Thinking out loud, we wonder how men are supposed to be enticed by those super skinny trousers though. To see more images from the campaign, click through the slideshow above.
