Spring 2013 Couture: Our Favorite Looks From The Runway

Others may still want to enjoy the frostiness of the surroundings brought by winter, but we at Fashion Glamour simply can’t wait for the season to end and feel the sweltering sartorial heat of summer. With that, we decided to go through the looks from the recently-concluded Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week and pluck out our choice of standouts.

While there are numerous memorable moments on the couture runway — like Chanel’s edgy take on gothic beauty and the tantalizing crystal lips at Dior — no one can steal the thunder of the exquisite clothes. The true stars of fashion week, we couldn’t shake off the divine collections at Giambattista Valli, Valentino, Dior, and Zuhair Murad, to name a few. Whether they arrived in chiffon, tulle, silk, or organza, many of the clothes commanded attention like nobody’s business.

With no sequin misplaced and no shoe left unpolished, the couture looks reminded us once again of fashion’s impeccable capability to create magic — with a single painstakingly hand-executed dress, that is.

If the couture catwalks are the ones dictating the red carpet trend for the months ahead, we’d say bright colors, shoulder accents, rave-worthy capes, and mesmerizing stripes will be ruling the entire year.  To see the spectacular display of couture skills from the world’s most renowned houses in full screen, click on the image above.
