There really is no better way to melt away those winter frostbites than the sight of impeccable designer clothes. At the four-day Paris Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2013 Fashion Week that kicked off on Monday, we were blessed with visual decadence that only the resplendent city lights of Paris and its top-tier designers can offer. The collections that stormed through the runways lived up to the age-old notion that haute couture is fashion, but so did the women of the streets.
While the clothes are the protagonists of every fashion week, the street style parade is the definite understudy. With an ensemble of quick-witted bloggers, sharp-tongued editors, and discerning fashion buyers flooding the Parisian streets with layers upon layers of wool, fur (faux, hopefully), and animal prints, the scene throughout couture week was as magical as the actual shows.
