Stella McCartney flew all the way from London to Madrid for the Telva Fashion Awards to fetch her trophy as Best International Designer. Going to a ceremony celebrating her point of view as a designer, McCartney rightfully made quite the entrance in a wetsuit-inspired mini dress from her sporty fall 2012 collection and her very own Daphne platform pumps as well.
The 41-year-old designer, whose creations have been enjoying worldwide exposure courtesy of her numerous celebrity clients, accepted the well-deserved award in front of a crowd of fellow designers and Spanish tastemakers. “I love your country, I am very happy to be here and am honored by this award, is a joy to receive the prize for best international designer, especially my brand that is more or less new ,” said McCartney during her acceptance speech.
Having spent most of the summer months working on her collections, dressing stars and designing the Great Britain team for the Olympics, McCartney also took the opportunity to officially celebrate the opening of her store in Barcelona. The phrase is used and abused, but it truly was better to host a party late than to never commemorate it at all.
