From snagging the Best International Designer award at the Telva Fashion Awards to the Designer Brand and Designer of the Year honors she bagged at the recently held 2012 British Fashion Awards, McCartney has certainly established her rightful position in the London fashion scene.
While it’s easy to think that these prestigious accolades are enough icing on her 2012 cake, McCartney wrapped up the year with another significant recognition. The designer earned the title Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), an honor given annually by Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II.
Ever since she created more than 500 pieces for Team GB’s Olympic athletes, McCartney’s name has been ringing not only in the London fashion circuit, but also in other countries.
In addition to the 41-year-old designer’s brilliant achievements, McCartney can continue to bask in the privilege of seeing her classic yet fashion-forward creations donned by famous personalities such as the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton and supermodel Kate Moss.
Other stars that made the New Year Honours List of OBE recipients include British actor Ewan McGregor, singer Kate Bush, and Olympians Victoria Pendleton, Mo Farrah and Jessica Ennis.
