Target, Neiman Marcus and 24 designers join forces for holiday collection

There’s an epic collaboration coming our way and though it won’t arrive until the holiday season, we’re already gearing up for its gargantuan arrival. Retailers Target and Neiman Marcus, and an enviable roster of 24 American designers have teamed up to create a limited-edition gift collection for the holidays. The numbers aren’t set yet but the collection will reportedly consist of more than 50 pieces, with each label designing one to three items for the line.

While apparel is all-too common when it comes to collaborations, this partnership has forced some designers to get out of their creative boxes. Neiman Marcus reports that some labels will be offering other product categories including home décor, sporting goods and electronic accessories, among others.

As if working with one designer isn’t already a difficult task, the two retailers took on the herculean responsibility of bringing 24 designers into one collection. The designers who participated in this collection include Alice + Olivia, Alice + Olivia, Altuzarra, Band of Outsiders, Brian Atwood, Eddie Borgo, Judith Leiber, Lela Rose, Marchesa, Philip Crangi, Prabal Gurung, Proenza Schouler, Rag & Bone, Robert Rodriguez, Rodarte, Skaist-Taylor, Thom Browne, Tracy Reese, Carolina Herrera, Derek Lam, Diane von Furstenberg, Jason Wu, Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta and Tory Burch.

We’re a wee bit astonished with how Target and Neiman Marcus were able to keep the prying eyes of the media away from such legendary collaboration. Neiman Marcus however, let slip that this has been in the works for months, with meetings being held in secret for this wonderful collaboration. The Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection will arrive on December 1, in time for the holiday season. Prices are expected to fall between $7.99 and $499.99. All items will be available at all Target and Neiman Marcus stores, as well as their respective websites.

The advertising campaign for this collaboration will descend in the fall. In the meantime, we’re keeping our eyes peeled for more details about this mind-blowing partnership.
