It’s that time of the year again when spring/summer ad campaigns begin taking over magazines. Italian label Versace follows the footsteps of DKNY, which released photos from its spring 2013 campaign a week ago.
While DKNY was all about celebrating women’s glamour and effervescence, Versace took on a fiercer approach. With a gladiator theme, the London-shot campaign captured by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot last November was utterly perfect for it featured three of the fashion industry’s most sought after supermodels—each notably sporting the same statement sandals.
The ageless Kate Moss glowed like a Grecian goddess in an orange dress that featured black lace details as she posed for the cameras with three muscular men in black underwear and gold bling. In fact, Moss stood out among all others since her dirty blonde hair complemented her dress and super bronzed skin to perfection.
Ukrainian model Daria Werbowy glistened like a star in one image, where she can be seen wearing a fringed necklace embellished with gold and silver brass accents. Meanwhile, Joan Smalls flaunted her slender gams in lace jeans while holding a sophisticated bag. The Puerto Rican beauty looked absolutely stunning, with her black tresses floating amid the nighttime setting.
“To have three glamorous and iconic women like Kate, Daria, and Joan in one campaign is not an easy feat,” said Donatella Versace in a statement. “Mert and Marcus really outdid themselves. Each image is composed like a work of art.” Now that we’ve had a glimpse of Versace’s Spring 2013 ad campaign, we wonder who will land a better print ad position in glossies—Moss, Werbowy or Smalls? The campaign will be released officially this January.
