Victoria Beckham at New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013Although she first found fame in the music industry, Victoria Beckham has definitely a home and belongingness in fashion.

Proof of her success as a designer is not just in having A-Lister fans such as Blake Lively and Jennifer Lopez, but also in the fact that she’s responding to the public’s clamor to see more of her old designs.

The British designer has decided to introduce a new clothing line that will carry key pieces from the label’s archive. It’s technically not a re-release since clothes from the Icon line will arrive “in newly reworked colors and fabrics.”

The official launch of Icon, which will coincide with the unveiling of the designer’s brand new e-commerce-ready website, will span accessories, denim, and an exclusive collection of items from the Victoria, Victoria Beckham line.

“Together with my personal edit of the SS13 collections, I wanted to be able to offer an exclusive product on the site that was in keeping with the signature aesthetic that’s very special to me,” the 38-year-old mother-of-four told Elle UK.

For Icon’s debut, there will be a seven-dress lineup. Some will come from her 2009 and 2012 spring/summer collections. Of course, more styles will be added further down the road. Prices will start at £1,000, which will be roughly $1,600 in the US.

More than a simple response to requests for past designs, Beckham has a bigger goal in mind. “I hope these updated styles will become unique, limited edition pieces and am excited to revisit other archive designs as the Icon collection continues to grow,” she added.
